Workplace HIV Prevention

The Corporate AIDS Prevention South Africa (CAPSA) is SFH's workplace HIV prevention programme. SFH developed CAPSA to enable small and medium-sized companies to provide accurate HIV and AIDS information and support. Larger South African companies are the global leaders in workplace HIV programming but the majority of smaller firms have little in place for their employees. SFH aims to fill that gap by providing moderately priced, high-quality workplace HIV programming developed specifically for small and medium-sized firms.
CAPSA provides the following services:

- HIV Policy Development: An HIV policy helps a company effectively manage the inevitable problems and issues surrounding HIV/Aids that arise. CAPSA can guide a company through this process and advise on the best ways to communicate this policy to the workforce.
- HIV Prevention Training for Management: CAPSA addresses the issues that affect managers and gives them the knowledge to effectively deal with the challenges they will face as the HIV/Aids epidemic affects their working life.
- HIV Prevention Training for Employees: Innovative and interactive sessions sensitise employees on a variety of different subjects pertaining to.
- Peer Education: CAPSA trains a cadre of peer educators on a variety of subjects pertaining to HIV and AIDS, and prepares them to lead a series of educational sessions for their co-workers.
- Voluntary Counseling and Testing: Early testing is key to staying healthy whether an employee tests positive or negative. The New Start mobile CT unit can provide on-site, confidential testing services with its full-time trained counselors. Results are available in fifteen minutes and are immediately shared with the employee and then kept confidential.
